Many tears have been shed over the last week by JoAnn and I (Thomas Icker). We called Mrs. Whitesell "Nana" as many people did. Nana was very caring , giving and loving like many people are but Nana was given a gift by the big guy in the sky. She was a great listener the reason you knew this is because she always had an opinion, insight or experience in what you might be going threw after you spoke with her. Her door was always open to Jo and I no matter what time of the day. Jo would often be there before 5am talking to Nana about any personal issues she might have and Nana would always have something to say to help Jo make it threw the day. Nana and I would joke that I was her boyfriend , which made me feel so very special. That's what Nana was all about making the world a better place and making people better so they could make the world better. As you get older it's harder to find friends like Nana. They dont grow on trees and you have to be lucky enough to have a friend like Carla who also opened her door to us . What will be missed the most is the compassion, calmness and MOTHER like effect she had on Jo and I. Jo walked into that house so many times crying and left being able to function thru out the rest of the day and that will be missed more then anything. There was never a time I visited and didnt laugh at least 2 or 3 times and that's what I will miss along with all the help Nana gave Jo. They had so much more then a friendship and we were both very blessed to have met her, loved her, shared time with her and learned from her. WE WILL MISS YOU NANA , I KNOW YOUR ENJOYING WHERE EVER YOU ARE RIGHT NOW!! BIG BIG HUGS AND BIG KISSES LOVE JO and TOMMY
