“A Time to Weep”
Ecclesiastes 7:2 says: “Better is it to go to the house of mourning than to go to the banquet house, because that is the end of all mankind; and the one alive should take it to his heart.” There is “a time to weep.” (Ecclesiastes 3:4)
Yes, the greatest man who ever lived openly “gave way to tears” when his friend Lazarus died. (John 11:35)
To the family members of Clifford Charles Hoy: Today, I learned of Clifford’s demise. I was one of his Immediate Supervisors during his law enforcement career with the Human Services Police. I had a great deal of respect and admiration for him as a Police Officer.
Please accept my heartfelt condolence for your lost.
Sincerely,
Trent A. Davis, Retired Police Sergeant - Human Services Police

My deepest sympathies go out to his entire family. In hearing of Cliffs passing, a flood of both sadness and great memories came rushing back to me. Cliff and I had been friends since around the 6th grade. We had been on the Wrestling team together through Jr. High and High School. (He was one of the few that always carried our team to victory.) In summer we spent endless hours on the bay, Boating, Skiing and Crabbing. He loved the water. I also remember the many great times spent with his family. Although, in time we didn’t see each other that often, when we did bump into each other it was always with a great smile, a lot of laughs and filled with all of our stories about the old days. He will be missed by all. -Ed

Cliff was my brother, Brian's, best friend for most of his life and will forever be a part of our family. He used to tease me as Brian's "little sister" but it was always in fun. I know Cliff will be missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God bless.

We live right next door to Cliff and were deeply saddened and shocked by the news of his passing. I had the opportunity to speak with Cameron on the day of his father's passing and I told him that his Dad spoke very highly of him and loved him very deeply. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Hoy family.
Rest In Peace Cliff.

I guess the memories that come to me of you & your family were when we lived in Bay Head Shores. We grew up across the lagoon from each other & will never forget being able to skate on the ice across from each other. Cliff, I will sadly miss you & wish I would have kept in touch. Mrs. Hoy & Bob my deepest sympathy.

People enter your life in various and diverse ways and so it came about that Cliff entered mine. Contagiously energetic, colorful, optomistic a more loyal friend than anyone might ever hope to find in this life. Though we traveled diffrent paths in life our friendship remained strong. Rest now my friend, for I know you are now in more merciful hands,in that I take comfort. To you Rose and Robert we send our prayers that the Lord will watch over you and ease your grief. Cliff was above all a TRUE FRIEND to me and I count myself fortunate to have known him. So very, very sorry.......
