Although I haven't seen Jo in decades, I still hold her dear in my heart. My memories of our elementary school days are still vivid.
I wish we had made that visit we wrote about so many times, Jo Anne. I will always remember you.

Dear Joanne,Iam very saddenedof your leaving too soon.We lived next door to one anothervery briefly, on Hyacinth Place in Pt. Pleasant.I remember an occassion one day I strlled over to your hose and knocked on your door, You answered smiling and asked me inside. We were 15 then. You asked me if I'd like some potato chips&cottage cheese.I'd never heard of that combination before. To my surprise, it was good!We were sitting at a semi long counter on stools. We were chit-chating and I asked you if I could try some of your perfume in a pink bottle named AMBUSH,I think it was made by AVON.It was a light sweet scent that was beautiful.I had never tried that before. It was a short visit. Not much on my mind at 15, except The Beatles/my steady boyfriend. But first impressions are lasting ones! Your persona has stayed with me all these years-a genuinely sweet kindness. You see I didn't live in a happy home.I remember running to the woods and sitting on a big rock and crying, feeling broken hearted and lonely. When I left your house, I felt good. Peaceful and mellow .Better than when I left my house.I remember thinking to myself, She's really nice. I like her.I remember your natural pink rosey cheeks! I stared at them and thought how pretty you areinside and out. I never met a 15 year old like you before. Not catty or put on. I remember how well behaved your brothers were. It really impressed me.Your whole family. I noticed.I remember! Iam lucky to have met you at all.The world really needs many MORE people like you and your family.Your inherent, bonafide sweet kindness that impressed me so at 15 yrs. old is indelible in my mind.and I'll always remember you JOANNE KINGHORN(ECKERT)with asmile in my heart.

My true love and prayers go to your entire family. Jo was one of the most devoted daughters to her mother at Sunnyside and a kind and understanding soul to all the employees. I am truly saddened by her passing, but am warmed that Ruth will welcome her with an open heart and clear mind. Jo was strikingly beautiful on the outside and kind and graceful on the inside. Please know that everyone at Sunnyside is disheartened by her loss. God Bless your entire family. We miss you.

Jo made Nellie Bennett a safe and happy place for my three children. They always said she was the nicest of the secretaries and she treated every parent and every student as though they were special.
I lived for awhile next to Jo's twin brother, Jim and his wife. Jo and I talked often whenever I was at Nellie Bennett and I was always happy when she answered the phone. I almost hated to have them move up at of Nellie Bennett!
She will be missed. She was loved and now she is in a place of eternal life and love. My condolences to her family and Jo - Rest in Peace.

Glenn and family, what can we say. We stand here staring at our computer with great and deep sadness. Our hearts ache for your loss.
Jo was dearly loved , a warm and positive person always.
It is so hard to comprehend that her life has ended. We pray she did not suffer terribly and know that now she is definitely at peace and will be richly rewarded for the life she lead.
We go back many many years and will always remember her in our hearts.
We want you to know we would be there if we lived in the area and would have been supportive during her illness, but as you may or may not know we reside in Florida.
Please accept our deep and sincere condolences on the loss of Jo.
We will remember her in our prayers and also all of you as you work through this most sad and difficult time.
Blessings and Many prayers
Butch and Celeste
